The International Group of P&I Clubs (the “IG”) confirms that it has received a formal application from China Shipowners Mutual Assurance Association (CPI) to join the IG.
It should be noted that CPI is an approved reinsured mutual association within the IG structure with reinsurance arrangements with a number of IG Clubs.
The application will be considered during the coming months against the objective criteria agreed between the existing IG Clubs for admission but will not impact the 2027 renewal.
Group CEO Nick Shaw stated:
“ The Group was pleased to welcome CPI Chairman Xu Li Rong and other senior members of CPI to the IG’s London office on 13 October. At the meeting the IG was presented with CPI’s application to join the IG which will be considered in accordance with the agreed process.”
