• How has the P&IQ benefitted you so far?
This experience has allowed me to gain new insights and reinforce my existing knowledge. The comprehensive support provided, which explained the reasoning behind each concept, was extremely valuable. The revision material will remain a valuable resource for my work.
• Has the P&IQ positively affected your career?
The extra knowledge gained with the P&IQ has helped me build on my existing skills. It was also a chance to demonstrate my capabilities within the team. Moreover, having passed that first module encourages our principals to have more confidence in us knowing that we better understand their requirements and can meet them to the best of our abilities.
• Do you have any top revision tips?
To maximize assimilation of content, I would recommend dedicating 30 minutes daily to reading and understanding each chapter and summarize key points through rigorous notetaking. I would also recommend going through all mock exams, as they give you an idea of the format of questions and help you picture yourself in exam situation.
Our management also organised video calls with P&IQ exam candidates across our offices, so that we could share knowledge, question each other and seek guidance from more experienced colleagues to clarify any unclear points.
• How do you find the exams?
This was my first experience of this type, and I was impressed by the supervisor's supportive attitude. She helped me manage my stress and anxiety, offered words of encouragement, and was both friendly and professional. Each chapter of the document had been reviewed. The exam was thorough and well-organized, requiring full attention throughout. While I appreciated getting my results quickly, I would have liked to see the correct answers to the questions I struggled with afterward.
• Would you recommend the course to others?
Indeed, it is extremely valuable for our maritime and P&I sector.
